Depression sucks. I have it and so does the majority of my generation. So here are a few things I have/do/use that help my low- esteemed and sarcastic self survive my terrible mental health.
1. This tapestry

I want it, I bought it. I wake up full of misery. I see it, I still love it.
2. Otters

I freaking love otters, they're smol water dogs that chirp - How can anyone not love them? I follow different tags on Instagram to keep my smol water dog addiction under control and I have a little otter statuette and an otter stuffed toy I got from friends. They just bring a smile on my face.
3. Pure unadulterated dancing

When it comes to helping myself feel better, dancing is one of those we-all-do-it-but-never-really-admit-it things we all do. I'm not sure what it is, but dancing just really relieves the soul. On the days that I feel my worst, I honestly make myself do head bobs in the library during my study breaks.
And in case absolutely no one was wondering...yes, I dance to spooky scary skeletons.
4. Boba Milk Tea
Everyone deserves the love and support of the food they love in their life, mine is boba. Regardless of the flavor, milk teas always give me a sense of happiness which is why I always get it when I'm feeling down. If you go to FGCU and have never tried milk tea with boba, go to Paradise Smoothie Cafe in Gulf Town Center. I promise you won't regret it.
5. Write on this platform

I'd be lying if I said I didn't love writing. I truly love it and although I'm still lacking confidence, I am confident in the people who tell me, "you're a fantastic writer." That's exactly why I love writing for this website, I'm given the freedom to use my own prompt on a team of students who are also passionate about writing.
