Creating That Perfect Playlist For Your Jam Sessions

Producing that perfect playlist is a skill to master and a work of art. The more experience someone has with music will have better results in grouping songs for a certain mood they are in. How do you create that perfect playlist for the next time you are jamming out? The answer is not as complex as it may seem. These following tips will give you the strategies and tools needed for success. First off, the number one tip I can tell you is to always come with an open mind with music through always being on the lookout for new songs and genres. While tons of music may be stored in your playlist there is much music out there in the world. Take a few minutes out of the day to be curious and explore new songs and genres you might not know. I do this on Spotify through researching and listening to other playlists offered.

Also, a good tip to create that ultimate playlist is to aim for somewhere between 30-50 songs per playlist. This helps to convey the mood that is desired in the playlist. If the playlist has too many songs then the meaning of the playlist is gone. If there are fewer songs on the playlist that indicates the message is not getting through. A good way to convey the mood you want to convey is to aim for the 30-50 song range in the playlist.

Another tip worth mentioning is to be creative when making these playlists. You can make this into a fun project. The more creative your playlists are on Spotify the more songs you will have and the more playlists you would have to achieve in a given mood. In other words, come into a playlist brainstorm session with having the focus on a playlist narrow. For example a workout playlist is very broad, and odds are you will have so many songs that will clutter the meaning of the playlist. Instead of workout break it up into certain workouts you do. Since I like to run I have a speed workout playlist for those songs that get me pumped to run fast and I have a long distance music playlist. These are songs that will make me run for long distances as opposed to running quick and short bursts.

All in all, creating that perfect playlist is a task that needs practice and time. The ultimate playlist will be made with a few of these tips and tricks mentioned. Have a fun time hunting down songs for that dream playlist of yours!

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
