Soft-mouth-watering-warm-stuffed pretzels and delicious foods served in tea form are not places that are easily known to most people. So when one of my friends, Amanda Green suggested these places to me, my response was, "I never heard of it, but let's go check it out."

Gnarly Knots

27W570 High Lake Road,

Winfield, IL

United States

630-473-043

After what seemed to be an awfully long car ride, we arrived at what looked like an ordinary house with a sign that said Gnarly Knots. What's unique about this place is that creative stuffed soft pretzels they serve. Each day they have a different stuffed soft pretzel along with a soup. We ordered the three cheese stuffed pretzels along with the 'Creamy Tomato Basil' soup, and I remember daydreaming about the pretzel hours later.

Besides the stuffed soft pretzels that they have, they also have other pretzels like the pretzel dog and cinnamon sugar dog. While they have the main soup, Creamy Tomato Basil, their soups change from day-to-day too.

Another unique aspect about this place is that you eat the pretzels and soup outside behind the house at picnic tables. They took the whole 'eating-out' experience literally.

Gnarly Knots can't be compared to store-bought frozen soft pretzels.

Tea'se Tea Shoppe

5755 W Irving Park Road

Chicago, IL 60634

(773)-599-4136

Sweet Watermelon, Chocolate Cake, Tiramisu, Blueberry Mango, all these foods sound delicious. But have you ever tried them in tea form? Tea'se Tea Shoppe on Irving Park Road in Chicago showcases various teas and lets you choose what tea you want to be brewed and whether you want it to be served hot or cold. The first tea I had was the Sweet Watermelon served cold. This place has a friendly and relaxing atmosphere, but the hardest part is deciding what tea you want to try.

Sometimes the places we never heard of, are worth the trip to check it out.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
