Tick by tick hours go by,
One step towards the future one foot stuck in the past,
Drifting away from friends on an endless sea,
We all feel this feeling, but it never lasts,
No one could glance at a reflection and see who they would be.
Time is a very odd thing,
It runs a marathon when you want it to stand still,
When times are hard and tiring,
you want it to speed up, but you know it never will.
So focused on laughter and happily-ever afters,
that the dawn of a new day daunts you,
sometimes life just feels like a solution-less disaster,
you turned into a beautiful masterpiece, if only you knew.
Storms are still coming, more than a few,
But "the sun will come out tomorrow" an orphan named Annie once said,
And who you were in the past is still a part of you,
Mistakes will be learned from and something beautiful will remain in their stead.
The glass is foggy and the future is uncertain,
like walking on a tight-rope with out knowing what will happen,
the future won't be unveiled until you pull back the curtain,
life isn't the paper you wrap in,
it is the surprise waiting inside.
Have a little courage for tomorrow,
everything happens for a reason,
regardless of the pain and sorrow,
have faith for the new season.
