One thing this quarantine period has taught me is to appreciate the delicate little joys of life. Oftentimes, there is always this intrepid adrenaline rush inside us that is mostly deemed uncontrollable due to unexplainable circumstances that have to always divert us to chase behind success, money, fame, and competition.
Now, Corona has come forth as the torchbearer of sanity, peacefulness, warmth, togetherness, and enhanced appreciation towards the most precious things in life.
Sometimes, I wish to go outside and enjoy walking and dancing in the rain just like a free bird. There is certainly something magical about the monsoons i.e. it just simply entices the heart and makes you want to immerse in it while drowning all your sorrows. This is an articulate example of what such simple pleasures of life entails and something worthwhile for everyone to taste.
In other words, life should be devoted to special moments shared with loved ones and with the ones who mean a lot to you. Now, traveling abroad doesn't sound that tempting and exhilarating as simply heading to your backyard and partaking in a mini picnic with your closest people. As the days of coronavirus are passing by swiftly, I'm beginning to examine the true essence of life which doesn't always have to be a rush to finish things on time and sacrificing little droplets of happiness. It all boils down to the fact that we have to prepare ourselves to accept the hurdles of life and make the best moment of every situation!
Although the road to the pandemic recovery may seem quite lengthy, that doesn't mean that we should begin depriving ourselves of the mystifying joys that can come in any shape or form.
I think it has become second nature for many of us to sometimes take people and things for granted very easily. First and foremost, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude, admiration, and appreciation to all the amazing Frontline health workers for all that they are currently doing during this unforeseen global pandemic! We shouldn't and should refrain from treating anyone regardless of their socioeconomic status for granted. In the world we are living in, there is absolutely no guarantee as to what the future will look like, and expressing gratitude for every morsel and positivity imbibed by the special people in our lives should be our subconscious goal.
According to research published in the Journal of Personality and Psychology, "A grateful response to life circumstances may be an adaptive psychological strategy and an important process by which people positively interpret everyday experiences. The ability to notice, appreciate, and savor the elements of one's life has been viewed as a crucial determinant of well-being."
Likewise, the wholehearted expression of gratitude heralds the sound of resplendence igniting the lamp of hope during our everyday lives. Life sure does not have to remain bland and mundane if we approach life with dignified grace and optimism!
