Conundrum Of Religious Affiliations

Are you a religious individual? If so, why?

Conundrum Of Religious Affiliations
Jazmin Galdamez

Religion: you either embrace it, believe it, or deny it.

To be in an institution without a religion can be ignorante.

Yet it can be the salvation to all your sufferings...

However, I am against the putting of suffering unto a God.

And no, I am no atheist, nor am I a preacher, but I am in questioning of your intuition to believe in something higher than oneself

So who are you praying to?

The universe or some unknown Creator of the Big Bang Theory, no, not the show, the theory, you televised fool.

The question begins: is there even a greater source out there? Something bigger than a chemical explosion? And if so, how do we know that it’s not just particles of dust that are clogging up our minds to believe in such sorcery?

And if the air is fresher than your soul, how do you know that what you believe isn’t just a fable of long, long ago? I mean no disrespect, I’m just another fool questioning the words of the preachers.

What about the Sun God? Is the sun a god? Or is it just sunshine that makes us believe that everything is bright? Because no, not even in this sunny Cali-Forn-I-A am I comfortable with saying that the sun has become my best friend.

So do you, stranger, or companion, believe that there’s more out there? Is there a God, a Goddess, A Dios, or a Source, or even an Illuminating Light, that shines your path against the waves of tomorrow and the turmoil of futures come?

As a college student in transition of more than just living a lifestyle, I question, is there more to my life than a simple practice of daily activity because I could say that exercising or yoga are my religion, but that’s not what I am talking about. I am speaking of believing in something higher than the physical and the mental. Something stronger, something fundamental, like the Founders of this Nation, something that’s louder than my voice, my thoughts, the something that has power to rule everyone and every other creation of this planet Earth and Galaxies. I am asking, do you have a religion or a spiritual path? Or are you just a being that could care less for thoughts of these and would rather follow along with teachings, creencias, of your family or your ancestors?

Be it my way, I’d rather keep on living in dreamland and believing that life is just a chemical reaction of H2O, Nitrogen, Potassium (K), and a few other elements that only a scientist can possibly remember.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
