The next few weeks will be quite exciting for Starbucks coffee lovers. With the new season coming in, there will be new drinks and features available to customers that it will be almost impossible to resist going to the 'Bux. For those who love the Starbucks version of a milkshake, you are in for a treat. With hot weather comes the new frappuccinos and the return of a few favorites.
1. The Return of the S'mores Frappuccino
If deliciousness and sugar had a baby, the amazing result would be the s'mores frappuccino. Though most baristas (alright, every single barista) despises frappuccinos, this is one blended beverage that is a favorite across the board. With the return of the S'mores frappuccino, comes the return of the coveted marshmallow whip cream that is good on every single drink.
The drink is a vanilla frappuccino (can come with or without coffee) with the marshmallow whip-cream and milk-chocolate drizzle on the bottom and whip-cream and graham cracker on top. Yum! The best part is, some stores have even had an early debut of the drink. Feeling extra adventurous? Add some milk-chocolate drizzle to the top too!
2. The introduction of the Waffle Cone Frappuccino
Though this is a new one, most of us can already predict it will become a favorite. The Waffle Cone frappuccino will have its own syrup and will be topped with large waffle cone crumbs, adding a delicious crunch to the blended beverage.
3. "Frappy" Hour
Properly known as "Happy Hour" and more commonly known as "Kill-Me-Because-We-Are-Down-A-Blender" by baristas, Happy Hour is a promotion that gives customers half off on any frappuccino. Starting May 6th and going through the 15th, customers can enjoy cheap frappuccinos from the hours of 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., and if you are a gold member, add an extra hour. Though this is a great deal, hordes of teenagers will enter the 'Bux, leading to increased wait times for the delicious blended beverage. If you want a simple coffee, do not come to Starbucks until after Happy Hour. Most Starbucks stores only have two blenders, so please be patient and kind with the baristas. Making that many frappuccinos is no easy task.
4. The Return of the Mini Frappuccino
Starting May 16th (conveniently after Happy Hour), Starbucks will be launching the return of the favorited mini frappuccino. The mini comes in at 10 fluid ounces, two ounces smaller than the tall. Prices will range depending on store location, but minis are usually 20-30 cents cheaper than a tall. Though you can get any frappuccino as a mini, you cannot get any other iced or hot drinks in the mini size. Mini straw not included.
It will be an exciting summer for Starbucks lovers! With all the new drinks and options available, summer is a great time to start earning working towards the "Gold Member Status" that the Starbucks Rewards program has. That way, you can get early access to deals and free drinks and food items! Besdies, who really needs a summer body when that S'mores Frappuccino is looking you in the eye?
