Coming out as Beautiful

You are beautiful.

Coming out as Beautiful
Mary Holden

After October 11, which many of you know as Coming Out Day, I was inspired to come out as well. I am coming out as beautiful!

I have plenty of friends and family that have come out, and I could not be more proud of them. I think coming out is a special moment for anyone in the LGBTQ community, and I do not want to overshadow the struggle that so many face when coming out, and I hope no one takes offense to this. But I think it would be amazing if everyone celebrated coming out in their own way!

I am only 4-foot-10 and have had my own struggles, but I know that this is who I am and I cannot change that. I love my body, but every now and then I have a slip where I wish I was maybe a little taller so dresses would hit me right or my cheeks weren't so red. I have decided that I should come out as beautiful and help others that want to come out as beautiful too!

Your worth is not based on the size and shape of your body, no matter how much society seems to tell you that! Rather your worth is how much you can give back to society and make the world a better place!

I find it silly when people say how much money an actor or actress is worth; Of course, they are gorgeous, but that is not the only thing that matters. The government is not run by actors and actresses, thank goodness, but it is run by people who want to change the world. Of course, you may not agree with every politician, but their policy is not what I am trying to share it is their goal to change this country for a cause they hold close to their heart!

I want to come out as beautiful since I know that it is not about how attractive you are that makes you worth it but what is inside that shows how much you matter! I want everyone to come out as beautiful even though I say the inside matters you have to show it on your outside! You must be confident with who you are on the inside and out to really take the world by storm!

You do not need to be the model on the billboard, but if you are that is amazing! Even still you are beautiful and you should not only have someone telling you that, you should believe that with every fiber of your being!

Come out as beautiful, or what ever you want for that matter, but remember that coming out is an important step in everyone's life especially those within the LGBTQ community. While you come out, support them coming out!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
