What started out as far-off talks as a Russian conspiracy is becoming more and more of a real issue. First, Russia was accused of interfering with the 2016 election result. This theory has still not been proven or disproved. The relationship between President Trump and Vladimir Putin has always been too close for comfort for many Americans.
But what started out as theories are becoming more and more cemented in reality as Trump's presidency goes on. First, Michael Flynn was forced to resign because of his inappropriate connections with Russia. Russian officials recently said they could use Michael Flynn to influence Donald Trump. Then ex-FBI director Comey started an investigation into the Trump-Russia connection and paid the price when Trump fired him.
To make matters worse for himself, Trump told Russians that Comey was a "nut job" and that firing him got rid of "great pressure" on him from the Russia probe. Comey had asked for more money for the Russia probe just a few weeks before he was fired. Trump also reportedly revealed highly classified information to Russian ambassadors. If true this could be considered treason which is definitely an impeachable offense.
Trump isn't the only one who has uncomfortable connections with Russia, many of his high-level staff members have been looked into for their Russia connections at one point or another.
The Senate Intelligence Committee is looking further into this connection and Comey has agreed to testify in open session before them. White House lawyers were reportedly looking up rules of impeachment. Things are not looking good for Donald Trump.
The fact that people are talking about impeachment already should be troubling to the White House.
