Who knew?
I mean really, who could have possibly known that out of the 7.5 billion people on this planet I would have found all of you? I certainly wouldn't have guessed that when I graduated high school, I would have ended up with the truly wonderful friends that I have. But I am so very thankful that I did.
I'm thankful to have found the people who text me to make sure I get home safe. The people who eat breakfast, lunch and dinner with. Friends that want to go on late night adventures. I'm thankful for hours spent around campfires or sitting together in dorm living rooms. I love going to the airport to pick my friends up. I'm thankful for how many donuts we eat. For movie nights, and Super Bowl parties. I love pancake nights. I love playing intramural sports together.
The wins seem a little sweeter when you're with your friends, and the losses don't seem so bad. This doesn't just refer to intramural sports. You're there for the good, bad and ugly. It's encouraging each other when you didn't do well on a test. It's bringing Gatorade to someone with the flu and driving others to the doctor. You stay up late talking about old love, new love, the meaning of life and God. Your friends are there when you decide to change your major. Your friends are there for the highs in life too. These are the people who will be there when you graduate or get your first "grown up" job. They will be there for weddings, promotions, new houses, your first dog, and (in the way far future) kids. They are going to be there for the rest of your life.
I didn't really believe my parents when they said that I would find my forever friends, but I should have. I am so very thankful for each one of my friends and pray they know what they mean to me. I hope they know that I probably wouldn't survive college without them. For worse or for better we are stuck with each other now, might as well make it an adventure. Love you guys.
