8 Thoughts All College Students Have When Coming Back From Break

While everyone else in your family has been going off to work everyday you have been doing a whole lot of nothing. Your biggest achievement may have been finishing that Netflix show you’ve been dying to watch. It’s all been a blur from Christmas until now. While it is exciting to reunite with your friends, getting back into the grind of college can be a hard transition. Here are some of the thoughts that might cross your mind:

Waking up early? What’s that?

Homework? What do you mean I have to read a whole book in a day?

Dining hall food? I’m sorry, what?

I have to go back to living in a small box again? But I had a whole house to wander!

Uh oh I brought back way more clothes than my small box can handle.

I have to do my own laundry again?

Internship applications? Ah yes, those things I was supposed to fill out over winter break.

No more spare time? But all I had was spare time.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?
