Maybe we all need a breather. One day of complete peace and relaxation may not do the trick because if you have work to do, you will feel guilty taking time off. For those which this works, go ahead! For the others, like me, let's take mini breaks throughout the day.

Reading this article is a break. Taking a shower is a break. Putting on a nice face mask is a break. Reading a book is a break. Browsing Facebook is a break. Just breathing deeply with silence around you is a well-deserved break.

I know that this feels like cheating. It feels like you don't deserve this, that you need to continue pushing through because that is the way you have been told work gets done. That's incorrect. You deserve to take breaks.

Taking breaks is scientifically proven to make you feel better, it makes you focus better and it takes off loads of stress. Do it, love yourself and your efficiency and take those breaks.

I know there are expectations. We all have them, from our parents, from our friends, from ourselves. Remind yourself that it is ok to not do well on that midterm, it is ok not to even get passing marks for that midterm. You will bounce back and you will do so with flying colors. Getting that bad grade makes you determined to never repeat that and that is a very good motivator.

Don't worry too much, just because you feel like this week or even this month or even this year has not been lucky for you; your time to shine will come. Just hang in there. Perseverance pays off; you have to just be patient.

To all those college students who are just way too tired, hello. I feel you. Trust me, we all feel you and that girl getting all A's feels you too. If it is hard to get up and go to class when you feel that there is no point because you aren't going to get that A anyway, remember what Jack Ma said, "Never give up. Today is hard, tomorrow will be worse, but the day after tomorrow will be sunshine.”
