Ah, summer jobs. A college student’s two favorite words.

Summer jobs teach us professionalism, responsibility, and discipline.

Trying to figure out this new "adult" lifestyle can come with many challenges, but we are never discouraged from becoming aware of the multiple learning experiences that the working world has to offer, such as...

Telling yourself you will wake up early every morning.

Congratulations! This lasts for the... first day. Then we all know it is “just five more minutes” and the snooze button for each work day until you officially clock out in August.

Using coffee as the solution for almost everything.

*Wakes up* Wow, sleeping for the past eight hours was truly exhausting, I’m going to need some coffee.” *Goes to work* They want me to think?! And...and use my mind?! At this hour? Oh boy, I am going to need some coffee. *Leaves to go home* Finally… now I can go to Dunkin and get some coffee!

Becoming incredibly cynical of the weather.

Okay weather, so you decide to rain all weekend, but be all bright and sunny right during my shift? Apology? Unaccepted. I see you weather, I see you.

Catching up with co-workers you haven't seen since last summer.

Oh, I remember you! You are that super nice person I worked with last year, yeah, you! How has your year been, and hey, while you think of that, what’s your name again, you?!

Proudly dropping the "I can't. I have work." bomb whenever, and wherever.

Yeah! I would love to, but I can’t. I’m like… super busy doing things with my life. BRB, as real, full-time working adults roll. their. eyes. and your friends that are hearing you speak do, too.

Cancelling the oneplan you have simply because you are tired.

Who needs socialization when you have naps, anyways?

Being excited to look at your bank account instead of being terrified.

New shoes. New shoes. Oh baby, guess who’s getting new shoes!

Secretly enjoying adulting, a little bit.

Wow, I made myself lunch today? There’s a hero in this household, and oh, it’s me.

Then remembering that adulting is... hard.

My mind says “sleep is for the weak!” but my body says absolutely nothing, because it’s been knocked out on the couch since 8pm.

There are many new experiences and obstacles to overcome when you start to enter the working world. It’s easy to get discouraged, but one day, the adult life that you now think is difficult you will handle with ease. So don’t lose sight, because no matter what, you will get through it. Your summer job isn't ready for you.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
