College Students Are Basically Just Toddlers

We may be adults but we're still children at heart.

When it comes to college students we all know that we're basically just big toddlers in many ways.

1. We nap.

Like all of the time. As kids, we hated naps - which is ironic because now we value them so much that it's considered a bad day if we don't get our daily nap. Trust me, you'll find me napping if I'm not in class or at work because in college, there is no such thing as a regular sleep schedule.

2. Coloring books. Duh!

Whether it's a printout or an actual book, coloring is back and better than ever. I have an ever growing collection of color books and I love each and every one of them. Plus it's a great way to destress.

3. Snack Time

If we're not in the dining hall eating we're most likely in our dorm rooms snacking on whatever our parents have gotten for us. Snack time is just as valued as naps.

4. We always want our parents.

I know I call my parents at least once a week but that isn't enough. Sometimes I just want to be with my mom and dad. We want the comfort they offer us while we are at home, even when we're not home. Plus, we all need adults in our lives because let's be honest, we may be adults but we really aren't.

5. Dessert for breakfast, lunch AND dinner?

Sign me up. We all know kids want sweets all of the time and they'll take it when they can. Well, college students are no different. We'll go straight for the dessert before we even get real food because we're still kids at heart.

6. Cartoons.

Yes, cartoons are a thing that we still love. There are so many new ones, not to mention the fact that cartoons are no longer just for kids anymore.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
