The first week back is always the best part; you unpack, you have all your new supplies, and you feel organized. You meet up with your friends you haven't seen since last semester and have a fun time. Or, if it’s your first semester, you either hide in your dorm with your roommates or you guys try to go out and socialize the best you can.

The first week is only syllabus week, after all, right? That’s what your older siblings taught you and your friends who went away to college before you and even if you’re returning for another semester, that’s what you think. Its only syllabus week, after all... No need to panic or anything. After the first week hype, you start getting homework and have to study almost every night with papers due left and right. You can’t seem to catch some downtime. This is where you're wishing that it was winter break.

Having nothing to do, no responsibilities (or hardly any). Winter break sounds like paradise and you just want to be there. Trust me, you're not the only one that's thinking about winter break. A bunch of other people are too. You’re so over this semester and just want it to end... Can it please be finals week already?

Even though you are nowhere near being as prepared as you should be, you wish finals were here. What we fail to realize is that sooner or later, winter break will be here. We just feel like it's taking ages to get here... It's not, though. In the meantime, while we're still stuck with having to deal with studying and endless amounts of stress, we can stop and think for a moment. Winter break will be here soon enough, and I definitely deserve a break after this hard semester.

So, keep your chin up and keep on trucking through. Winter break is just over the horizon my friend, and soon we will all be able to sleep in without the feeling of doom that we just missed a class in the morning.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
