Did you mark a day on your planner that is dedicated to just you?

You might not realize it, but when you're filling out your planner it suddenly hits. Every day is filled with either assignments, events, work, appointments and more. Did you mark a day on your planner that is dedicated to just you? Don't forget you have yourself to take care of.

Doing "too much" can be a good thing. You're getting more than enough units out the way, you're making money at work and you're involved on campus. What could possibly be wrong with that?

Once you end up getting caught up in such a busy lifestyle you'll forget to care for the most important person - you. You're putting more stress on yourself than you can handle and your happiness is suffering. Is it worth becoming so stressed out that you start to beat yourself up about it?

You took one too many units just so you can graduate on time. Why does it matter? It doesn't matter how fast it takes you to get a degree, it just matters that you get it. Whether it be this year or next year.

You'll get upset that you didn't have enough time to complete a homework assignment. You didn't want to tell your boss, "No, I can't stay later," because you don't want to disappoint him. You're a good, reliable employee. You wouldn't want him to think otherwise.

You don't have time for your friends anymore. Your schedule is too complicated to make plans with them. Don't you miss spending time with them? I'm sure spending time with them would take some stress off your shoulders.

If you keep doing "too much" you will get a lot done. Your resume will look better than it ever did and you will have more than enough experience. But did you have fun along the way? Did you create college memories that you will cherish for the rest of your life?

Maybe you could do both, but if you're like me, you might get lost in the midst of it all. Take a breather and don't be so hard on yourself. Work less, take your time in school and have fun. If you can't dedicate a day to yourself at least once a week, you might want to make some changes!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
