6 Reasons College Relationships Are The Best
Cameron Marr

With college relationships, there can be struggles, but in my opinion, it has made my college experience so much better. I am so thankful for my boyfriend and having the ability to see him every day.

You Learn To Really Trust

Cameron Marr

Your significant other will meet people and will have more girls/guys other than you around them. It will happen. They will want to go out with their friends and you will have to trust that their intentions are clear. Trust is vital in any relationship, especially a college relationship. Their friends might be single, but you have to trust that they will not act single just because their friends are single.

You will need help (emotionally especially)

College is stressful! It's so nice to always have someone to lean on in your times of extreme stress. They are great study buddies and help to keep you focused and away from stress. You will be stressing about lots of things, and now finding a relationship doesn't have to be one.

You will have a best friend

My boyfriend is my best friend. When people make me upset, he's who I turn to. When things don't go my way, he's who I turn to. When I'm stressed and about to cry, he's who I turn too. He's my rock at this very stressful time, and I am so thankful to have him here with me.

Networking

Cameron Marr

Your significant other will probably have different friends than you, which is great. You will have a chance to meet even more people and these people might even become your best friends. Networking in college is super important because it's not as easy to meet people when you're grown up.

You'll have the confidence to try new things

You're most likely scared to go out of your comfort zone and try new things but if you have a SO they will most likely boost your confidence to go somewhere you've never been, or even maybe go to an event you never thought you would go to.

Less pressure to dress to impress

Cameron Marr

It's sometimes fun to dress up, but after a long day of classes then work, you really want to go home pull your hair up and put on some sweatpants and hang out with your person. If you are in a relationship, chances are they are impressed already and don't care if you dress up or try really hard to look nice - you already have them hooked. You are comfortable and they think you're still beautiful without dressing up or getting ready.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
