Registering for college classes can be one of the most stressful 10 minutes a college student has to endure. There's the planning of which classes to take, the watching as all the limited seats fill up, the waiting until it's your turn to choose your classes, and the relief that it's freaking over! There's no better family to perfectly describe the DRAMA that is registration than the family who's known for their drama. So please, sit back and get ready to relive college registration.
The Advisor Appointment
You look to your advisor has the all-knowing leader who has all the secrets to the event that is registration. She's also known as the Kris Jenner of academics. Your advisor is going to help tell you what you need, when you need, and how the hell youre supposed to graduate on time. Not to mention, creating a schedule is just too damn hard and they can make it in .02 seconds.
The Class Search
EVEN THOUGH you used your advisor’s help for this grueling process, it’s time to browse through the times that your classes will be offered—oh and how minimal spots are offered. You create your tentative schedule and pray to the school gods that you get in to all of your classes.
The Scheduling Day
This is the 15 minutes of your day you dread for weeks. Quickly, you scramble to make sure seats are still available, if your back-ups have seats available, and if your back-ups for the back-ups have seats available. Then, the clock strikes at the hour you able to register: LET THE GAMES BEGIN
The Frantic Typing
You frantically—with clammy hands— type in your course and section number just as you practiced a few times. You probably set a new typing record while you were at it.
The Verification
You double and triple check that these are all the courses you need for the semester and that you didn’t just accidentally sign up for some random course.
The Relief
Though those 10 minutes were a whirlwind, you’re glad it’s over and you can spend another semester at the university.
