Finally, you get back on campus and see all your friends for the first time...
...and you wonder how you ever lived without them.
All of a sudden, you realize that classes start Monday, and that will require you to wake up at the crack of dawn.
What's even worse is when someone violates the unwritten "two-day" rule and takes your seat.
On top of that, there is always that one person in the class who always insists on speaking. Your thoughts of them range from, "Oh really, is that what you think?" to "Dear Lord, sweet baby Jesus, please grant me the grace and mercy to not shove my pencil in their eyeball. Amen."
You also have to sit through those stupid General Education classes, knowing that you will never retain what you're supposed to be learning.
You just sit there, pretending to listen.
Someone has to do all that homework, though. So, you begin to spend so much time in the library studying that you lose all concept of time...
...and sleep. Essentially, you become a walking zombie.
You try to write papers again and struggle to meet the minimum word count.
Also, you spend countless hours studying for tests, but you always feel like you know less information than when you started.
Sometimes, you try to get a study group together. Most of the time it ends up being a bunch of people sitting around doing anything but studying.
God forbid you have to do a group project and none of your friends in the class are in your group.
When test/presentation time does come, you leave feeling like you totally destroyed the curve...
...only to get the results back and realize you didn't do so hot.
You also begin to realize that the lack of sleep causes laziness, and all of a sudden, there is a rapid decline in your outfit selection.
But that doesn't matter cause you know you're freakin' awesome.
You live for the weekend, and finally it arrives.
There are two possible ways your weekend will go:
you can cut loose...
...or stay in.
Usually, this depends on what your friends are doing...
...and your willingness to tolerate the crazies that come out. Like, control yourself.
Regardless, whatever you do, it can't cost money cause you're beyond broke.
Despite the crazy world that Centre College is, you wouldn't trade it for anything.
Because you know that the memories you make and the people you meet only happen once in a lifetime.
