College is a unique experience.

College is pulling all-nighters in the library with your Starbucks in tow and your headphones in check.

College is staying out all night with your friends even though you have an 8 a.m. class the next day.

College is skipping that 8 a.m. class because 8 a.m. classes suck and snuggling under the covers is a better option.

College is changing your mind 10 times a day, whether that be about your major, what you're going to eat for dinner, or what you're going to wear to a party later.

College is being confused about what you're doing o where you're going in life or what your purpose is.

College is feeling lost and constantly asking yourself if you made the right decision doing this or that.

College is calling your mom four times in an hour because you can figure out if the difficult recipe you're trying to make for dinner "is supposed to look like this."

College is calling your dad on a Tuesday because you have a flat tire and don't know what to do.

College is missing your best friend from home who goes to school four hours away.

College is introducing your high school friends to all of your new college friends, with the hope that they like each other, but the assurance that they'll love each other and get along great, because, why wouldn't they?

College is waking up the next morning with no recollection of the night before.

College is waking up at 8 a.m. for a tailgate but skipping your 8 a.m. class because you're "too tired."

College is wearing sweatpants to class and rarely doing your making, but looking like a model every time you walk out the door to go to the movies with your friends.

College is having half of your closet decked out with your school's colors.

College is going home on a weekend feeling more excited than ever before because you finally get to see your dog.

College is changing your mailing address every year.

College is going on a mini road-trip with your friends because you have the freedom to do so.

College is making huge decisions on your own for the first time, with the understanding that this is your life and you can do whatever you want with it.

College is having your parents on speed dial if you ever really need anything, but having the responsibility of holding yourself accountable for the first time because you're becoming an adult.College is calling your mom when

College is using the word "adulting" every time you make a big decision or go grocery shopping and get real food, not just frozen dinners.

College is looking back at old photos and reminiscing good times with people that you don't talk to much anymore.

College is stalking your high school friends on social media because you have no idea what is going on in their life anymore because the two of you have gone your separate ways and become more distant.

College is a time that you rarely have time for yourself because you're trying to balance school, work, and a social life.

College is considering dropping out of school every other day because it's so stressful.

College is a time for growth, and really figuring our who you are and what your passions are.

College is saying goodbye to immature boys and moving on to men, because you realize that you deserve a man who is reliable and is going to respect you.

College is discovering self-worth and realizing that only you can live your life, and only you can make the decision to live a happy life.

College is a time that you take advantage of, because you know that it will be over too soon.

College is taking advantage of every fun opportunity your way, because you know that you will actually have to "adult" when you graduate.

College is a time when you create memories that will last a lifetime, but realizing that there are some nights that you actually can't remember.

College is the craziest experience of your life, one that is difficult and stressful, but one that you wouldn't trade for the world.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
