One of the most difficult things I have had to do in college is finding housing. Not only is housing nearly impossible to find, but there is very limited housing. I also know I am not the only one who has this problem because many of my friends have also been struggling to find the perfect place to live, so here is my advice on finding college housing.
First off, you need to be prepared and on top of requesting tours of houses that you are interested in. The really nice apartments and houses, that are actually affordable go super quickly; this is why you need to be fully on top of it. I have had multiple friends tour an apartment and fall in love with it just to find out someone had already applied to it and had gotten it. Most apartments are on a first come, first serve basis, so it is very important to be first.
Another struggle about finding an apartment or house is determining how far away from campus you are willing to be. The further you get from campus the cheaper the place will be, and usually the bigger the place will be, but are you willing to walk all that distance to class? It is also important to find a place that you and your roommates agree upon, because if only one person likes it, it will be miserable trying to live in a place you dislike.
The very most important thing while looking for housing is find a place that you could actually call home and feel comfortable in. You are going to be living there for at least a year and it is important to have a home away from home in college.
