I have read my fair share of Odyssey articles. I think it started when I was a senior in high school and wanted to be in college so badly, I read Odyssey articles to know what college would be like. Then, in preparing for my freshman year, I wanted to know how to do my college experience correctly (and learned everyone has a different and great experience).

Now, I read all different articles, many of which always end up being relatable. These articles are a great reminder of how great the college experience really is! So, here are the articles that everyone ends up reading at different points of the four years:

1. The letter to high school seniors

Bonus points if it includes how you’re excited to graduate

2. Advice to my freshman self

This is how I compiled a list of things to bring and what to expect in the summer before going to school. Seriously helpful when setting your expectations!

3. The best things about your school

Nervous about going to school? An easy solution is to remind yourself why you chose the school and what people love about it!

4. Why ___ is the place to be/extracurricular to join

Another great way to prep for college is to know what to do when you’re there. Stay ahead of the game!

5. Orientation week as told by ___

Now that you’ve finally started freshman year, the articles are finally describing your experiences as they happen.

6. Midterms/Finals week as told by ___

The first exam week is always the hardest. Now you know SpongeBob and Michael Scott can be very relatable.

7. Vacation week as told by ___

A semester is done! Now that you’re accustomed to having friends 5 minutes or less away from you, you’re now dealing with the boredom of having your own room again. A big perk is no more shower shoes though!

8. The letter to old high school friends

At some point, you will miss high school, especially the friends that helped you get through it. This is the perfect article to send to them to let you know you miss them.

9. The letter to new college friends

And even though they’re less than 5 minutes away from you and you could say thank you to their face, an Odyssey article saying how great they are is definitely the way to go.

10. The letter to your roommate

Shoutout to the person who makes your home away from home feel like that!

11. The letter thanking your parents

The letter to your original home, thanking them for letting you have this amazing experience before you go out into the real world.

12. A list of things to do before you’re 18/19/20/21

Bonus points if the list is the same number as the age. Double bonus points if you’ve done everything on the list early.

13. A list of things to do before you graduate

Another way of realizing all the things your campus offers and that you absolutely have to do within 4 years.

14. The letter thanking your school as you leave

Because, despite hell weeks and homework, you still love your college experience and wouldn’t change it for anything else!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
