16 Energy Efficient Tips for College Students Going Back to School

If you’re a college student, regardless of age or location, you’re probably going to college. Maybe not all people attending college are attending college, but it’s safe to assume that most are. So if you’re a college student in college, let’s see if you can relate to these totally relatable college things! And what better way to demonstrate college than through pictures of college-related things?

1. College campus.

Most colleges have a campus, and chances are your campus is the most beautiful campus in existence. Just look at every freshman’s Instagram; they’re probably covered in artsy pictures of their respective campuses. Unfortunately for you, none of your campuses will ever be as beautiful and naturally artsy as SUNY Geneseo. Just look at that sunset.

2. College parties.

Parties are a huge part of college! Remember that moment in your life when you and your friends got all dressed up the first weekend of freshman year to go to your first party? To refresh your memory, here’s a picture of some real-life freshmen at their first real-life college party.

3. Classes.

Only slightly less important than college parties are your classes. No matter what major you are, you probably sit in a classroom for at least one class. This picture also shows a classroom! So relatable, right?

4. GPA.

The biggest result of taking classes is having a GPA, or grade point average. This can be anything between a 0 and a 4.0 (ex: 3.24, 2.6, 3.9). Look at this smiling person, whom we can assume is a student. He probably got a 4.0 this semester.

5. Bad GPA.

Oh, who are we kidding? Like everyone else, you're probably failing all of your classes because you spend all of your time partying at those college parties. This picture of a sad face represents your sad face as you found out your first semester GPA.

6. College food.

I'll bet you $100 that your college has food. It probably doesn't look quite as good as this picture, though. Darn it, now I'm hungry.

7. Dorms.

Like some other college students, you probably have to sleep at some point. If you go to school far from home, you might do so in a dorm room. Usually, they're nice and homey, like the one in this picture.

8. Studying.

In college, sometimes after you learn a substantial amount of material in a class, you have a test. Tests may sound scary, but in reality, as long as you cram all night the day before, you should be fine.

9. Finals week.

The most important tests you'll ever have to take in your entire life are your final exams. These are a bit different, in the way that you can study for as long as you want, but ultimately you'll just discover that some things in life aren't meant to be possible. Like passing.

10. Umm.

I'm kind of starting to run out of ideas. While I think of the next point, please enjoy this stock photo.

11. Dogs.

If you're as lucky as us, Geneseo students, you may have random dogs wandering around campus during the nicer months of the semester. Sometimes, their owners will be nice enough to let you pet them (the dogs). If you're not that lucky and can't relate...well, here's a cute picture of a puppy you can enjoy anyway.

12. Hipsters and vegans.

We all know that girl who sits in the gazebo all day every day playing "Riptide" on the ukulele, or the hammock guy with the mandolin. No matter what the woodsy location or obscure musical instrument, they're cooler than us and we wish we were them. Also, they probably don't eat animal products.

That's pretty much all there is to college. If you're an incoming freshman and wanted to know what college is really like, hopefully that was helpful. And if you're in college now, I'll bet you can like totally relate.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
