The Clover Difference

“Hi, how are you? Welcome to Clover!”

These words define almost every day at work for me. I work for Clover Food Lab, a local restaurant chain dedicated to getting you to dream about vegetables, addressing global warming by reducing meat consumption, supporting Massachusetts farmers and their land, and creating healthy, delicious, fast, affordable food. As a Clover Guide, I get to play a pivotal role in fulfilling Clover’s mission. My job is to guide you through our menu, to tell you about all the different food and drink options we have, and to spread the message of what Clover is doing and how it’s reshaping the power of the consumer in the restaurant industry.

When you, the consumer, make the choice to eat with us, you are saying NO to global warming, as our CEO, Ayr Muir, points out. Everything we serve is meat free, helping to keep your dollars out of an industry that is a major contributor to greenhouse gas emissions.

My favorite part of being a Clover Guide is greeting customers that I know and see every day by their first name. Because we take the time to talk with you directly in a way that is more than just taking orders, we develop these beautiful personal relationships. I love seeing my regulars come back day after day because they know and love our food so much, and I love watching them spread the word and bring their friends, newcomers to Clover, in for a meal.

A huge part of Clover is the consumer - your feedback and ideas drive what we put onto our menu. We host weekly food development meetings that are open to the public each Tuesday from 3 to 4 pm at the Hub, where most of our food is prepared. You’ll find that our menu is always changing, that every month or so we get a new seasonal sandwich and platter, and in the winter, new soups as well. We also value transparency; on our website, you’ll find extensive blog posts that run from when Clover started its first food truck to the latest news, like our update to the oats we serve at breakfast. The website is a great place to learn about our origins, our food, and our mistakes, and to connect with the rich variety of events and classes we offer to both the public and employees.

So, why should you come to Clover? Because it’s not just a restaurant; it’s an experience and an adventure every day! There’s always something new to try, something new to learn, and something to fit everyone’s tastes. From our chickpea fritter sandwich to our french fries with rosemary, to our vanilla soda, I guarantee you will find something unique that you will fall in love with. As consumer and employee, together we can create a better future for food and make the world a better place, one bite at a time. We can always accommodate groups of any size and can even cater your next event. With twelve locations all over Boston, there’s bound to be one near you. You’ll always be greeted with a friendly face, a smile and a welcome, and you’ll always leave full and satisfied. Come taste the Clover Difference!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
