Why Cleaning Your Room Will Save Your Life

Picture this:

You wake up to the sound of your alarm for the fourth time this morning. Hit snooze over and over again. Once you muster the energy to finally get out of bed you are greeted by jabbing pain in your foot. Here we go again. It's a hair clip. You've stepped on a hair clip. Its 40 degrees out, the floor is ice cold and you're running late for your 8 am class. Slippers. Where are the slippers??

Does this sound familiar to you? Maybe your morning doesn't always start with chaos or maybe it does...

I don't know about you but usually, the way that I start my morning will depict the way the rest of the day is going to go. If you find yourself feeling crumbs on your bed from your late-night snack, have piles of "not dirty enough" clothes taking up half of the space on your bed, all of your shoes out for display, or even not finding that one pair of jeans that make you look really good...then maybe it's time to admit that you need to tidy up your room!

Your room is your space. Some people claim that even though their room is messy, they still know where things are. While that may be the case, for others, it might just be that their room is just plain old messy. I often find myself in this situation when I neglect my room over the course of the week due to school, work, etc. When that happens I find myself starting my day on the wrong foot.

Your room is where you start and end your day, so doesn't it make sense to make it a space where your mind can be at ease? Help yourself have an easier morning by keeping your room clean and tidy, you'll be thanking yourself later. Having to clean and organize a room that looks like it's been hit by a tornado might feel overwhelming, but once you get down and dirty you'll begin to realize how much better your room looks and how much better you feel. Something that can help to keep your room tidy is to take 20 minutes out of your day to organize and tidy up. This might mean just to hang clothes, close drawers, make your bed, or even close your closet. Simple things like that can make your room look so much better.

Personally I've managed to keep up with organizing my room for the past several months and I cannot express how much it has changed my daily routine and how easy it is to wake up and go to bed knowing that I won't have to play hopscotch trying to get to my bed.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
