The Miami Heat unfortunately lost in Game 6 to the NBA Champion, Los Angeles Lakers. It was a game highlighted by Laker dominance. This was a heartbreaking loss for a team and fan base that has gone through so much.
However, this is only the beginning and not the end. This Miami Heat team proved this season that they are not a team to be underestimated. Many saw this team as not even being able to make the playoffs and at best, a 6th seed that would be eliminated in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. The Heat far exceeded these minimal expectations reaching the NBA Finals and taking this stacked Laker team to 6 games.
The Miami Heat will undoubtedly be a free agent destination. The team's amazing culture and variety of stars and serviceable role players will be appealing to many of the best free agents, such as Giannis Antetokounmpo and Victor Oladipo. Many experts say that this Heat team just needs one more star to guarantee a championship and by extension a dynasty.
This team is so talented. Jimmy Butler can guarantee you 30 or more points when needed. Bam Adebayo is a rapidly rising star who is in the conversation for being one of the best "Big Men" in the league. Tyler Herro and Kendrick Nunn are both young stars who were Rookie of the Year candidates and are slated to only get so much better.
Duncan Robinson, who at one point believed he would never have a successful NBA career, is one of the best and most efficient three point shooters in the league.
The Heat also has strong veteran talent, such as Jae Crowder, Andre Iguodala, and especially Goran Dragic. Goran Dragic, at 35 years old, is still proving he is a certified star in this league and one of the faces of this Heat team. These veterans can help guide the team and teach them how to win better.
Things can only really go up for this Heat team and we can only wait in excitement to see what amazing things this team can produce in the future.
