Tragic news out of Cincinnati, Ohio today has reverberated around the United States quickly. The Cincinnati Zoo has euthanized the entire crowd of people that attended the park today, due to a mountain lion cub wandering out of its exhibit.

Eyewitness reports tell us that a neglectful mountain lioness lost track of one of her cubs because she was occupied with an extensive tongue bath at the time. The cub, who was named Lewis, scaled the wall of the enclosure and ended up on a main walkway of the zoo. Chaos ensued as a young woman looked down upon a terrifying scene: Lewis was depositing dangerous droppings onto her new shoes. The crowd quickly scattered and a mob scene began to take shape as people ran for their shoes' lives. One witness explained that "It looked like a dog, but like, I don't think it was a dog."

The Cincinnati zoo had only moments to react before more shoe lives were lost. The zoo elected to euthanize the rest of the visitors still running around manically at the park, seeing it as "the only solution." After the scene was considered stable, a zoo volunteer calmly picked up the cub and returned him to the enclosure.

Now there are many questions still swirling around this situation, such as: "Why wasn't the mountain lioness more watchful of her cub?" or "Who will clean this mess up?" or "Since the zoo eliminated a large portion of its demographic, who will show up now?"

It may take a while to find an answer to these questions, but one thing is for sure, everyone is thankful it wasn't as bad as it could've been.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
