Since I was a little girl, I had a vision of Christmas.
Boxes, presents, and the time family spent with us.
A large, jolly old man, clothed in red,
He would bring me presents while I slept in bed.
I remember Christmas being about the snow,
About the cookies, the milk, and the big red bow.
But as I got older, I started to wonder,
“Is Christmas more than the tree and what’s under?
It wasn’t until God took me by the hand,
He showed me the way and helped me understand.
Not 12 days of Christmas, but a savior’s birth,
A life for the sinners, God thought of us first.
Christmas is not about the gifts, and glam,
It is the Holiday spirit through the great I AM
The one who was sent when all hopes failed,
He preached and served, to the cross he was nailed.
Some claim hierarchy, the ultimate religion,
But in all churches, Jesus had risen.
Not beliefs nor war can separate the spirit,
Sing Hallelujah for all to hear it.
We find people who dress so proper and neat,
Who promise one day, they’ll stand at His feet.
But we forget the ones who have Him inside,
The ones who live and serve in His eyes.
For a person who claims Jesus by mouth,
Must be a man who serves Him in his house.
But there is a difference from those who just say,
Than those who kneel and every night pray.
Forget the mistakes, your past full of sin,
For Jesus was born, and with him you’ll win.
Claim not by your mouth, but your actions too,
It’s not what you say but exactly what you do.
We still have the gifts, the bows, and tradition,
But never forget the ultimate mission.
A baby was born, on a night like this,
In a stable topped with a virgin’s kiss.
So this holiday season, look past the face
And into the reason for a God full of Grace
Love without limits, praise with no fear,
A family with God is a family drawn near.
Have a blessed holiday and never forget the true meaning of Christmas. A Savior’s birth for OUR second chance.
