We did it, Bobcats! It's finally the end of exams and the beginning of the holiday season. If you celebrate Christmas, it means less than a week until the big day and if you're anything like me, you haven't even gotten started yet! So whether you need music for your drive back home, for decorating the tree at home, or just for getting in the holiday mood, here are nine Christmas playlists to get you started.

Spotify

1. Indie Christmas

If you're not quite ready for the transition from your normal repertoire to Christmas cheer, this is the one for you. The cynical sound of your typical indie lineup + Christmas tunes you know and love = a very moody Christmas. Pair with your most ironic ugly sweater.

2. Christmas Road-Trip Sing-Along

It's exactly what it says! A personal favorite of my musical family, it has enough music to last us the long trip to the grandparents and varied enough to play on a loop without getting bored.

3. Christmas Cocktails

Another non-traditional playlist, but this time with more jazzy influences. Perfect for a classy night in with friends from home or a holiday party.

4. Christmas Classics

This is the bread and butter of holiday music, all of the classics you grew up with for the best possible nostalgia boost. Make sure to cozy up with a hot cocoa and your favorite seasonal pajamas in front of a decorated Christmas tree or a roaring fire.

Apple Music

5. Modern Country Christmas

All the classics with a country spin, with the best of the latest country stars

6. Holiday Novelty Classics

Okay, so it sounds and is like something your weird, slightly out of touch uncle might play at family Christmas, but there are some real gems hidden behind the odd premise, such as Jimmy Fallon's "Drunk on Christmas".

7. Sentimental Christmas

If you want to be both emotional and nostalgic for Christmas, this is perfect! Just don't blame me when you're cry singing to "Merry Christmas, Darling" by the Carpenters and gazing out a snowy window soulfully.

YouTube

8. Christmas Eve Indie Folk

This playlist doesn't actually contain any Christmas songs! However, it's a great mood maker for the night before the big day, or for anytime you want to feel warm and wintery.

9. Fireplace and Instrumental Christmas Playlist

All the ambiance of a cozy night in with none of the fire hazards! This livestream is great to throw up on the TV during a party or to set in the background while you crank out any last minute work.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
