Tis the season to prepare for the season earlier than we should!

To be fair, everyone has their own personal favorite holiday. People love Halloween because of spooky costumes while others focus on Thanksgiving because of the food they dream about eating all year long. Now that Halloween has come and gone by Longwood University, my roommate and I are readying ourselves for the most beautiful, gracious and heart-warming holiday of the entire year: Christmas. I hope this holiday season is as ready for us as we are for it!

As a child, Christmas was a grand holiday because I got a good chunk of time off from school and got presents in the process. I also enjoyed cuddling with homemade hot chocolate made by my momma. I still remember all the cold nights hanging up our many different, precious Charlie Brown and Wizard of Oz decorations. Christmas culminates traditions in a special way that is above comparison when other holidays are brought up.

At Longwood University, traditions are valued all throughout the year, so as a college student, I am even more hyped up for the upcoming holidays more than ever. My roommate Elizabeth and I are planning our dorm room holiday decorations as I type this article. She is always bragging about playing Christmas music in November, and I literally live for that kind of vibe. I can't wait for binge-watching "Elf" on the cold nights when we don't have a ton of homework to do. Out with the pumpkin spice lattes and in with the hot chocolate, I say!

This year's Christmas is so much more enhanced because I have a lot more people to share the classic Christmas feeling with. I can share my love for the holidays with my new college friends, and I'll appreciate seeing my family back home even more when I come home for the holidays. This year, I'll have the privilege of decorating my mini Christmas tree from when I was a baby here in our room, and we'll be able to use the lights as a night light which is another Christmas perk of mine that I love! Then, I can go home and help my mother decorate our big Christmas tree with the massive collection of decorations she has. Meanwhile, Elizabeth and I will be decorating the rest of the dorm and have the best looking room in the whole building!

Christmas is Elizabeth and I's favorite holiday, and this time of year is going to be so fun for so many reasons. My roommate and I are going to share our traditions and celebrate them. Now that we have established our love of Christmas with our spirit and the shirts we wear that are pictured above, let the holidays commence!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
