7 Holiday Activities Even The Busiest College Kid Can Enjoy

Ah, Thanksgiving break. A time to spend with family, friends, enjoying delicous home cooked meals and thinking about all of the things you have to be thankful for. Also technically a time for getting ahead on working/studying but no one ever really does. Normally you have atleast a week or two left in November when you get back and that usually serves as the time to get your shit together before finals. Well, this year Thanksgiving was so late and now all of a sudden finals are in approximatley 2 weeks. You want to enjoy the holiday season but how could you possibly enjoy it when you have dreaded exams looming over you? I have found some ideas that are fun and festive but still leave you with time to study..or atleast pretend to study.

1. Grab a Peppermint Mocha or a Peppermint Hot Cocoa.

You need caffeine before class anyway, might as well make it festive!

2. Christmas Music.

You already have headphones in during your 20 minute walk to class anyway, might as well play some holiday classics!

3. Room Scents

You always want your place to smell nice, why not have it smell like peppermint, or cinnamon!

4. Making Christmas Cookies

You can study while they're baking and have a mid/post study snack when they're done.

5. Decorate Your Place

If you plan on being in your place to study anyway, why not make your place look cute and festive!

6. Sight See

If you live in a place that is warm enough, you may be able to sit and work outside and enjoy the Christmas lights. If it's pretty chilly where you are, you could always bundle up and take a 15-minute study break and walk around and look at the likes

7. Watch A Christmas Movie

If its a weekend or a night you do not have the test the next day, everyone deserves and hour and a half off sometimes.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
