So you're Christian. You go to church every Sunday, you can quote scripture, you enjoy having talks with people about your faith, you love worship music, and you genuinely just love God and the truth that He saves us from our sins.
But are you selfless, merciful, graceful, patient, and forgiving, all with the heart for serving?
Do you go out of your way to make other people's lives better or days happier even if you get nothing back for doing it?
Do you show grace time and time again to the person you can't stand?
Do you forgive even the people who have hurt you the absolute worst?
Are you calm and collected and merciful to the person who continues to frustrate you or let you down?
Honestly, think about it.
I'm not here to condemn. I'm saying this all to hold you accountable and aware of the faith you claim and what it demands of you. I've said it before, but faith means nothing without works.
You can't call yourself Christian if you don't actually strive to live like Christ every single day.
And it's not easy, I know. We're human. We're selfish at our core. We get exhausted and flustered quickly and easily. There will always be certain people that we don't get along with. But Jesus wasn't loved by all, in fact, most people hated Him. And you think Christ doesn't get exhausted when we sin over and over and over again, even after He's done so much for us?
But that's the call of a Christian - to act selflessly, in all things and to serve, at all times.
