Winter break is arguably the best break of the year: you get to see your parents after a long semester, it's cozy and Christmasy inside, and there are so many candy canes, chocolates, and desserts around that your heart (and your pants) grow 3x the size in the name of love. But as much as we love the glorious being that is winter break, there's always a few downfalls when you come back to your hometown.
1. Every local store or restaurant is crowded with locals who frankly, are scary and sketchy as hell
2. Seeing people you graduated with and avoiding eye contact at all costs
3. Arguing with your parents about a curfew even though you've been living on your own all semester
Mom, I'm a grown-ass woman, I've managed to keep myself alive up to now, can I please leave the house past 10 PM? *rolls eyes*
4. When dealing with family members during the holidays makes you wanna pack your bags and turn right back to school
5. The beauty of showering without shoes
6. Getting to sleep in and be lazy for as long as you'd like
7. Realizing that you are in prime winterbod stage
Sorry, can't hear you over this ham, turkey, potatoes, chocolate, cookies...
8. Trying to reset your sleep schedule to something mildly normal
Why am I up at 4 AM? The world may never know.
9. Becoming a house-dwelling hermit and having your only contact with the outside world be through your Finsta and Twitter
Is this considered treating myself?
10. Bugging your mom in the other room excessively just because you can
11. Having full size appliances in your kitchen makes your heart fill with joy
What? You mean I can fit a full size pizza in my freezer? I have counterspace? I have countless shelves in the fridge? Foodie heaven.
