It happens to the best of us. If you are like me, you wait until the last minute! Yay for procrastination! So here is some ideas for easy and cheap DIY halloween costumes, or if you are just a broke college kid. This one goes out to all of you. Happy Halloween!

1. Loofah

Okay so this is my personal favorite, because you can be that friend to keep it clean on halloween. Yes, I just made that pun. Okay, first step: buy some tulle from Walmart or a fabric store, and bunch it up or sew it on an outfit. These can either be a tube dress, tank top and shorts, or leggings. Now do scrub the night away.

2. Piñata

Oh, this is a costume that you will definitely get hit on. Ha-ha! For this look, you need a lot of crepe paper or spray painted newspaper and a WHOLE lot of patience. Plus, an old dress would be nice too.

3. Athlete

Well, if you are a sports lover or an athlete, then this one is going to require hardly an effort because you most likely already have the pieces for this costume. And if not, just go to your local Goodwill. Decide what kind of athlete you want to be, I mean I prefer a tennis player but that's just me. If you really want to go all out then require props, like a tennis racquet or a football.

4. Jellyfish

This one you just need to be careful, so you don't sting people. What you will need is: a clean and clear umbrella, and you can use all different types of materials for the stingers, such as strings, ribbons, fabric, or thin strips of bubble wrap. Just don't get distracted popping the bubble wrap or you'll never get the costume done! And you might annoy your roommates.

5. Powerpuff Girls

I loved the Powerpuff Girls when I was younger! So grab your two best friends and go fight crime! What you will need is a blue, red, and green outfits, whether that is a dress, shirt and skirt or shorts. Then add black belts! Or if you do not have a black belt, just use good ole duck tap! For the final touch, just put on some white knee high socks and black flats. Enjoy this one.

6. 101 Dalmatians

This one is for a group or an individual, you can invite as many as your friends as you want. You'll have a dog gone good time. What you'll need for this look is a white outfit, and use black marker to draw spots, or you could you black construction paper, cut out circles, and glue it on. Then if you want, add some black spots on your face!

7. Bag Of Jellybeans

I mean why not be candy on Halloween, you'll be a sweet treat. Ha-ha! For this costume you'll need a large clear trash bag, cut out holes for your arms and legs to fit to your body. Then you should write or print off nutritional facts on the back of the costume, just like you'd find on the real packet. Fill up the bag with colored mini balloons, like water balloons, this will be the jellybeans. Next tie up the trash bag near your neck with a red ribbon, just be sure not to choke yourself.

Whatever you go as, watch out for clowns!

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
