If you're from Chicago, then you know the blessing of finally having warmer weather, but the question is - are you taking advantage of it? Here is a list of free or low-cost things to do this summer in the city.

1. Beach

Grab a picnic basket and a towel! As someone living close to the lake, the last couple of months have been awesome as I've been able to walk the lakefront (and pet all the dogs doing the same). Now that it's finally beach weather, get out your bikes, swimsuits, and grills. Lake Michigan is waiting for you.

2. Movies in the park

Chicago's annual tradition returns, and you should grab your friends and head to this free event. The line-up of movies and locations are listed available online, but be sure to arrive early to get a good spot - and don't forget to pack your own food or drinks to save money.

3. Neighborhood fests

Another annual tradition, and a good way to see parts of the city you may not often venture to. Most of these will be free, or $10 and under to enter, but the food and shopping at these festivals can add up. The live music is usually worth it, though.

4. Concerts

The summer usually culminates with Lollapalooza, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't attend all the other, cheaper concerts held outside this summer! Details for this are also available online, and most of the free to attend concerts take place in parks.

5. Six Flags

It's finally open again! Discounted tickets are usually available online, so grab your friends and head to Gurnee.

There are plenty of endless options that can be found online or through just wandering around, so embrace this great weather and get outside!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
