Chasing The Stars To Neverland

What's the point of growing old if you don’t have something to believe in?

The navy world flashes its gold high above the lost boys wondering eyes. They lay above the Earth, in the winding limbs of the evergreens, watching the stars burn fire. Curiosity trickles through their veins as the wind whispers their forgotten names. They search the skies for something to believe in. The second star to the right always seemed to shine so brightly. Widening their gaze as they weave in and out of the tangled vines, their thirst to follow the beaming light enchants their drying palate. The inclination for adventure rumbles their hearts, beating faster and faster as their wild mind craves the path of discovery.

A shadow steams in the distance. The unidentified structure creeps closer into the lost boys peripheral. It inches into their home in the willows. They break their focus. They find a boy draped in cloth that blends to the forest. No one has ever dared to even try to enter their hidden fort. He leaps over to them, almost like he’s flying. He nestles into the branch and joins them in their star searching. “Gosh, do you ever feel like that light is calling your name?” the childlike voice chimes from the boy’s wonderment.

Shocked and slightly struck by disbelief, the lost boys shake their heads in unison. “Why is it so different from the others?” one of the boys nervously utters. He explains that some stars glow brighter for those brave enough to believe. There is something out there that pulls the believers to their bright beams. Neverland, that's what they call them.

Neverland is a place for those who dare to venture into the world of wonder. They see things not only as they are, but how they could be. Some take years to find their Neverland. For others, it takes a lifetime. Not everyone has the same concept of Neverland. It could be near or far, big or small and filled with as many ranges of possibility as one could ever dream of. It's a place where you feel like you can amount to your highest potential. Where you see the world in as many colors as it could ever possibly be painted in.

When you discover your Neverland, proceed with caution. There may be some Captain Hooks out there who make it hard for you to fully grasp it. Fight them like a pirate and chase that star to Neverland, no matter how long it takes.

You will meet people along the way who share the same Neverland. Keep them, chase all the stars you can with them because they are your flashlight, they are your sword and they are your lost boys. Sometimes the journey to Neverland is half the battle, but the journey is always better with a crew who understands you by your side.

It could take a lifetime to find your Neverland-- yes it's true. Luckily, you do grow old, that's all a part of life, but you never have to grow up. So go, chase all the stars you can until you reach your Neverland.

What's the point of growing old if you don’t have something to believe in?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
