Your Sorority Chapter: As Told By Ocean’s 11 Characters

1. Danny Ocean: the President

The Danny Ocean of your chapter is the president, needless to say. They handle everything big picture as far as planning goes. They often have ideas of how to fund-raise or organize an event even when nobody else does. They help hold your entire chapter together and squash any conflicts reminding you all that at the end of the day, you’re sisters. Even when people get upset with them, it’s really hard to stay upset with them for long because of how much they do for you.

2. Rusty Ryan: the Veep

The Rusty of the chapter is the Vice President, a.k.a the President’s right hand (wo)man. They normally help figure out the logistics of any of their ideas. They are incredibly smart when it comes to planning, and often handle the smaller details of any major event. They keep the chapter functioning smoothly by handling the day-to-day operations.

3. Linus Caldwell: the Up & Coming New Member

The Linus is the up and coming new member that shows potential in a leadership role. They are always trying to show leadership potential to gain respect in the chapter, as they still are a newbie at the end of the day. All of their attempts to gain control of some sort are normally playfully dismissed by the President and Veep. When they do have control however, it normally ends up working out well.

4. Reuben Tishkoff: the Recruitment Chair

The Reuben of the group is the recruitment chair, as all of their efforts end up fueling the group and adding to it. Reuben helps fund the group and is the only reason it is able to be assembled in the movie, likewise your recruitment chair helps bring your newest pledge class together. They are often highly qualified and smart to be in the position they are, and have worked hard to get there. They know what risks are worth taking and which are too pricey as a result of this work.

5. Saul Bloom: the Senior

The Saul is likely an old exec. member who is now a senior. They have seen it all and now have the expertise to help the new exec when they have questions. However, just because they have the ability to help, it might take a little convincing to actually get them to. Their presence helps the chapter even if you don’t always realize it.

6. Basher Tarr: the Hard-Core Partier

More than anything else, the Basher is the partier of the group. They are really in it for the thrills, although at the end of the day they do help get things done. They have an explosive personality and are the embodiment of “work hard, play harder." If things aren’t going as planned, it is not unlikely that they will take matters into their own hands to accomplish whatever they may be. Although you will likely see them out often, they still manage to get all their work done.

7. Frank Catton: the Legacy

Even before they entered the chapter, the Frank was already good friends with a lot of people inside the chapter. So when they were finally initiated, it was like they had always been a part of the house. They already seem to know the ins and outs of the group and are always willing to help you out in any way possible. Even if they aren’t actively helping with something, their presence makes the time better.

8. Livingston Dell: the Scholarship Chair

The Livingston is your go to if you ever don’t know how to do something. They single-handedly are holding up your house’s GPA and on top of it always know how to fix the printer. They are a computer whiz and even if they can’t fix something themselves, they know who to direct you to. They are always very level headed and working on something.

9. The Malloy Brothers: the Dynamic Duo

The Malloy Brothers are like girls, who are literally attached at the hip. They do everything together and even when they are bickering, they still work well together. Although they are most notably always together, they are also always with the rest of the group. They’ll help with anything you ask them to, so long as they get to do it together.

10. The Amazing Yen: the Social Chair

The Amazing Yen never fails to be amazing. They are always one step ahead of you and work to make sure everything goes as planned. You might not always see all the work they put into all the events, but that doesn’t mean they don’t put a lot of work into it. Without them, you wouldn’t be able to do half the things your chapter does. You are always incredibly appreciative of them, even if you don’t outright say it.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
