For the people who think life is against them.

The people who think life is always giving them a hard time.

Waiting for it to turn around.

Wondering...

Why me?

Why this?

Why now?

You may think life is always going to be hard for you because life is hard for everybody. And everyone struggles differently.

But at the end of the day, every single one of us has one thing in common - life is always tripping us up.

Right?

The difference, though, is some people let it get to them, and others have learned to accept it as it is.

Just because someone has it better, doesn't mean you should be unhappy.

but similarly,

Just because someone has it worse, doesn't mean you should be unhappy, either.

Just be.

Life sucks, in different ways, for different people. It kind of feels like screwing things up is life's favorite hobby.

But here's the thing:

If you simply stop letting negative things affect you and get a reaction out of you, things will immediately turn around for you.

When you react to a situation, a person, or an event badly, you are giving the universe (everything around you) the negativity it is dying to receive.

And what does that do?

Gives, even more, energy for more negativity.

And this may take form in the ways of bad relationships, 'bad luck', or less opportunity.

It's a vicious cycle.

But you can start a new cycle.

Be present. Be positive. Take things as they come. Do not over-plan.Accept each situation as it is.And accept that each situation will shift naturally.Do not resist. Pay attention to the little things.Put your phone down. Do not take part in gossip.

Enjoy the song at the long red light. Let someone get in your crowded lane.Stop to pet the dog even though you feel awkward. Talk to the person in front of you in the ridiculous line.Think of that scratch on your new iPhone as added personality.

Be open to the new taste of your order that they got wrong.Realize you were kind of uncomfortable in the shirt you spilled sauce on, anyways. Your money got stolen, but they probably needed it more than you do.You failed your exam, but you didn't enjoy the class, anyways, so who cares?

Your car is crappier than theirs, but it gets you where you need to go and you're saving so much money. They aren't texting you back, but you are spending time with your friends anyway.Your exciting plans got canceled, well now look at all the free time you have to do whatever you want.

Every action has a reaction, and if your reaction is positive, more positive actions will come in return.

Life doesn't change until you do.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
