Cellphones have been one of the most controversial technologies of our time. They have given us access to a plethora of information about whatever you think of. But people argue that it is not a good thing, having the world at your fingertips? Here are some pros and cons about cellphone use.

Pros

1. Technological Advancements

Cellphones have only, in the past few decades, come to be as popular as we all know them now to be. People can text someone hours, states and countries away. Phone calls don't have to be on a payphone or dial phone. It is in the palm of your hand. Cellphones have made researching information and gaining access easy.

2. Contacting People

Instead of sending letters to talk to someone far away or to hear their voices, texting and phone calls make connections with people much easier and more reliable

3. Accessing Information

Cellphones and other tablets like devices make it easier to get a hold of information. The easiness of gaining information can help studying, research, class work, and accessibility to documents. Using cell phones is a way of learning instead of relying on another person.

4. Tracking

Parents are always trying to keep their children safe. With cellular devices, parents and guardians can keep an eye to ensure the safety of family and friends.

Cons

1. Cheating on tests and exams

Although cell phones are built to be more compact and easy to use, it also creates the possibility to cheat. The ability to conceal a phone to look up information, instead of studying.

2. Sexual messages

With the accessibility to the internet, there are also inappropriate uses of such technology. The access to certain media is not good. Anyone of any age can find and exploit this information.

3. Lack of other activity

Being on the phone, social media, and texting distracts people from being outdoors and prevents interactions one on one. In the long run, it can affect your health, physically, mentally and emotionally.

4. Cellphones are not cheap

Cellular devices are very expensive. The phone itself, the data plan, a protection plan if the phone breaks and so on. People try to use the cheaper carriers with the cheapest phones and plans. It causes trouble.

So overall, it is up to you. In the right hands, cell phones can be a great tool for everyday living, but also a device that can destroy a life literally and hypothetically. How do you use your cell phone?
