So Halloween has come and gone. The candies have been passed out to the trick-or-treaters, the college kids went out to parties and bars in their costumes (I didn't), and all of the decorations were as spooky as they can get. But now, it's time to get ready for the next amazing holiday...
CHRISTMAS!
OK, I hear you. You're probably saying that I skipped Thanksgiving and should think about the turkey and how they are feeling. Well, the turkey by the time Thanksgiving comes around are going to be smothered in gravy and in my belly.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Thanksgiving. I'm thankful for my family and friends, I enjoy watching the parade, I enjoy the annual football game my dad, brother, uncle, cousins and I play as well. Don't forget the amazing dinner. But...is there really a feeling of Thanksgiving spirit as there would be with Christmas spirit?
Also, what about Christmas music. Are there any Thanksgiving songs? I don't think so.
Another thing is that I'm in college, and we have to go home in the middle of December for winter break so when is there time to keep the Christmas decorations up for a little over a month? Not really any time.
So while I love Thanksgiving, I am giving it up for the holiday that makes me feel like a happy spirit and have less care in the world and that is Christmas.
