You don’t need to travel very far to enjoy a spring break in San Diego. There are several events going on every weekend until the end of March that include, beer, concerts and more. Vacations to Baja or even driving north could get expensive and travel time could be long, so check out these local events and other year-round activities to take advantage of this spring break.

Wine!

There are a lot of places in San Diego that host different events weekly. Many people don’t know of the many wineries around the county. Ramona and Temecula are two places where you can visit more than a dozen wineries on the same day. But, if you don’t want to travel far, check out this list of wine events happening around you.

Kayak Tours

La Jolla cove offers a lot of kayak tours that you should take advantage of if you are looking for a little water action on your weekend. The tour can take you through a cave, giving you so many vacation vibes, it’s definitely worth it. Check out tour times and prices here.

San Diego has one of the best beaches in Southern California. You don’t have to travel far to have a fun filled beach day. In case you get stumped, here is a list of the best beaches in the city.

Concerts

One thing San Diego does not have a shortage of is concerts. No matter what type of music you’re into, there are dozens of venues putting great shows together. If after a long day in the sun you want to go listen to music by the bay, you can find it at humphreys, check out the list of concerts here. If you are looking for more options check out these upcoming local concerts.

Theatre

Another way to keep you spring break busy is going to see an awesome broadway performance in San Diego. There are ton of upcoming shows this spring break, so change it up and go see amazing shows. You can check out a list of performances here.

Beer

There’s nothing better than beer on a sunny day, and if the forecast is not lying to me, it looks like the weather is going to clear up just in time for the end of spring break. There are countless breweries in San Diego, but one event in particular is a self-guided tour that includes puzzles and games at Thorn Street Brewery. There will be games and there will be fun. Check it out.

Hikes

Spring is a great time to take hikes because the weather is just perfect, not too hot and not too cold. There are several places you can visit locally and enjoy a fun hike before hitting the beach or the pool. Check out this list of trails to escape for a bit.

Dancing

Blow the dust off of your dancing shoes and go check out one of my favorite places to listen and dance to good music. The Belly Up in Solana Beach puts on a show every Friday with a great cover band that will play your favorite classics. Check out their upcoming shows here and if you happen to miss it, there’s always next Friday.

Boats

If you haven’t been on a boat tour in San Diego, you are missing out. With perfect weather, there is no better way to enjoy the sun than on a boat. If you are looking for something different, boat tours also offer whale watching times. Go witness some nature and get out to the bay. Check out this list to see some of my favorites.

Cheese

We know there’s wine, but what about cheese? If you love the dairy as much as I do, check out this event. You can eat as much cheese as humanly possibly while also drinking some delicious wine.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
