Why I Can't Wait For Concert Season To Start Again
Time Out

Everyone around me knows that I'm a real concert addict, I spend all my money on them. I'm not the biggest festival fan, so the summer is always a bit empty. That's why I'm extra excited for the concert season to start again this month. Usually, the season starts in September, for me it starts in October this year. I have some great names on the planner this fall, including Lady Gaga, Shakira & Lorde. But why do I like going to concerts so much? Why would you wanna wait in line all day just to be front row? Let me tell you.

There's just something magical about seeing one of your favorite artists live. The atmosphere is great, everyone is there to see them and that creates a connection right away. I've made many friends during my days of queuing (waiting in line all day) and it's honestly the best thing. Waiting in line all day may seem like the craziest thing to do for some people, but to me it really isn't. Everytime you do it you ask yourself: why? Because it honestly is hard sometimes, but it also gives you the greatest experiences. It's just so much more fun to wait with all your friends all day, anticipating the night ahead. Also seeing the performer from the front row is amazing, being so close to them gives you a whole different kind of interaction and that's why I love it so much.

But how can I go to so many shows a year? In comparison to my friends in the States (I live in the Netherlands) concert tickets are not that expensive here. I mean, it's not cheap, but definitely not as expensive as overseas. For example, my friend went to a One Direction concert in the States and she payed around $200. I went to that exact same show, just in the Netherlands and I payed €65 ($77). That's kind of a big difference. This gives me the oppurtunity to go to a lot of shows and also I work hard for it.

Overall, you love it or you hate it. It's just the way it is. To me it's really not just going to a concert, it's the whole experience. The whole day waiting with friends, seeing the artist up close and buying the merch afterwards .I can't wait to do it all over again this fall. I already have eight concerts planned and I know for a fact some tours are still to be announced. So I've got my wallet ready. Let's go!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
