You ARE Beautiful

You've always been my hype man. About everything. And not cause I need one, but because you genuinely enjoy supporting and encouraging your best friends. I'll walk in the room asking you for outfit approval and/or suggestions and you'll reply, "YASSS QUEEN" or "you are seriously so pretty what the heck".

I'll post something on my photography page about a new website I'm designing and you'll blow up my DM's with "YES YES YES PROUD UGH WOW GO BEST FRIEND". You take snapchats of me and videos of me and post them, showing off me, your best friend.

But how come when I tell you you look pretty, you don't believe it? Or how come when I tell you how happy and proud of you I am, you think I'm joking. Or what about when I want to take a picture and you hide your face or demand I take a couple more because the first one "wasn't good enough".

Don't you know I find you stunning? When I roll over in the morning after a late movie night and sleepover and your freckles are out because you have absolutely no makeup on - don't you know I think you're adorable? Don't you believe me and trust me? Don't you know when I tell you that I'm proud of you, my heart is genuinely bursting with happiness? Won't you let me show you off to the world as you are? Happy, real, and free?

How come compliments out of your own mouth carry more weight than the ones entering your ears?

You ARE beautiful. Not only because I say so and believe it, but because the One who created you intrinsically designed you and He never fails to create something beautiful. You ARE capable and you ARE doing a good job. Give yourself some credit where it's due.

Stop being so hard on yourself. Let people appreciate you and congratulate you. Everyone's in the same race together. So let's share the love but let's also receive the love. Humbling, gratefully, and wholeheartedly.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
