I'm going to say something that is an opinion! Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday! So, why is it not given the time of day after Halloween? We skip right to Christmas!!!
It goes Halloween...Thanksgiving...and THEN Christmas! A, B, and then C!
Thanksgiving is not always celebrated by everyone with such care and that is okay. But, I want to get it out there, and explain why Thanksgiving is the best time of year!
No one's family is perfect, but I love my family and being together with them. As someone who doesn't have the biggest family, it is especially amazing to have everyone together in one room because life just gets in the way. It is important to be grateful for them every single day, but the holiday allows everyone to take a break from work (if possible), and bring everyone together. We can actually appreciate it and have a day dedicated to those that you care for most.
Now like I said, no one's family is perfect. But, I'm sure you or anyone else that you know, have friends or people that they deeply care for. Celebrate with those people. Let them know that they matter to you. Honestly, this holiday creates a place that I look around and I feel like there is no better place to be in that moment.
Of course, a nice getaway vacation or other luxuries seem "nicer," but in reality, there is nothing that replaces the value of family.
Plus, there is a bunch of delicious food that we, unfortunately, engorge on, but I am thankful for each bite. It is important to realize, that eating in itself is a luxury and if you are those people that can pay it forward and help others who do not have that available to them, then more power to you!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving everyone! May it be filled with smiles, food, laughter, some type of movie, and love.
