Imagine this.

You're on a straight stretch of a highway, and a car is coming towards you swerving... only because they are paying more attention to their phone rather than the road.

The other person in the car is your child, spouse, best friend or friend and you've ran right into them causing a head on collision. The only difference is, you're crying so much and wishing you weren't on your phone while the other person is trying their best to remain alive.

So why do you text and drive?

Texting and driving is extremely dangerous. It's against the law, but you still do it. Rethink about how the situation could be handled if you weren't on your phone.

As the driver, you are responsible for everyone in the car as well. So if you are texting and driving with your best friend and siblings in the passenger and back seats then you may have them in danger as well. Would you want to see them lying on the ground outside of the car because of just one simple text?

There are other things that are harmful like driving while being under the influence and picking songs on your phone so you can hook up the aux cord and jam.

If you put your phone in the cup holder you are able to hear it vibrate or ring. To cause less of a distraction, when it rings you are able to put it on speaker phone, so you do not have it in your hands while you are driving. Texting someone and saying "Hey, I'm about to start driving. I will text you after" is a lot better than emergency responders calling your mom, dad, husband, wife or kids telling them they need to rush to the hospital because you decided to use your phone.

Texting and driving could also harm people that are working on construction throughout the roads as they are already putting their life in danger from operating dangerous equipment.

Texting and driving has killed over thousands and thousands of people. Some may be your family members, friends, or co-workers. All because of a cell phone you can end up in jail for murdering of another person.

Our generation needs to be the generation to stop texting while driving. Especially since we're the generation who uses technology to our advantage.

Think about what could possibly happen the next time you pick your phone up while driving. People care about your life, more than you think.

It can wait, so please put it down.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
