There are three things that we all know about college by now. One is that is almost impossible to keep up with all of the work. The second is that it is almost impossible to keep up with all of your purchases. And, third, it is even more impossible to find a happy medium between the two.
When Liz Wessel and JJ Fliegelman recognized this constant struggle, they decided to do something about it. They created Campus Job as a new way to connect companies and students with part time work. Completely free for students, the Campus Job website lists tons of part-time jobs offered on campus. The site currently has students registered at 500 campuses and is looking to continuously expand. Right now, 41 jobs are listed on our UW campus, and new ones are being added every day.
The majority of the job listings are positions for campus reps and brand ambassadors. However, there are also many other jobs listed, such as bar-tending at a local bar, photographing an upcoming event on campus, and freelance writing.
After the recent career fair, it is safe to say that campus has become five times more stressful than it was prior to the fair. One of the main reasons is that, in recent years, companies are expecting students to have lots of work experience before applying for full-time jobs. But for us, it is both stressful and hard to find this real life experience while dealing with the craziness of college.
Campus Job makes finding this part-time work easy and painless. When using Campus Job, instead of spending huge chunks of time on never-ending applications for jobs that you don't even know if you will like, you can create one profile on the website and click the "apply" button next to listings that intrigue you. It saves a ton of search time for the students who are looking for work and the companies that are hiring.
Being a UW campus representative for Campus Job is really exciting for me because it is something that I believe will change the game. With new listings added every day, the exciting opportunities for students are only going to increase. I received this campus rep position from the Campus Job website. From this personal experience, I can say will confidence that Campus Job is, without a doubt, the best way to find part-time work on campus.
So, it is up to you. You can let college continue to drain your wallet, or you can use Campus Job to find work and win the battle. Whether it is those late-night toppers you always wanted, the over-priced textbooks, or a spring break trip, Campus Job can help you!
