There are a plethora of reasons as to why we should develop a prayer life.

Up until 1963, prayer in schools was declared unconstitutional. We have seen radical things take place ever since that. Multitudes of ideologists and liberals have risen with new methods, strategies and principles into our country. We have removed ourselves from morality. Nowadays, marriage is an option and not "the choice." Nowadays, the drop out rate of students has risen more than it has ever used to be. Can we tie all of this back to prayer? We sure can... This nation has stopped putting God as first, so God has moved away from this nation. Similar to how God left his people during the ark of Noah due to their wickedness, greed, and sinful ways, we're seeing God leaving America every day. Should we only pray to attempt to change the world? What else does prayer do?

Here are some reasons as to why we should develop a prayer life:

1. Prayer moves mountains. I've seen prayer change the lives of many people around the world. As young people, one of the things that we tend to do the most is try to take control of our lives. We have our agenda and plan as to what we want in our lives. As a result, we resist God and put ourselves at war with God.

2. Prayer gives us direction. One of the great things that happens to us during prayer is that we get direction for our lives. It is something supernatural that happens to us, that instantly, we can be led to yield to the purpose that God has for our lives.

3. We are living through difficult times. Have you seen the debates? The government is corrupt. We cannot depend on a candidate to change our nation. The only one that can change this nation is God Almighty. We must pray that God appoints the right people at the right time for office, regardless of who becomes president. We have seen a shift of different laws being passed, and we are living in a society where it is easy to become deceived.

4. Prayer relieves stress. The Bible teaches us to present our burdens before God, so that they can be cast away from us. Everything that we are frustrated about in our lives is because we haven't been presenting it unto God so that he can take the load of work.

5. We cannot do it on our own. No matter how successful we become, it will mean nothing if we don't do it without God. Whatever we accomplish on our own is a dead work, and it will be temporary. What we do with God's help will remain eternal.

6. Prayer empowers us. It gives us a sense of purpose and destiny. It encourages and motivates us. Without me praying in the morning, it is difficult to get through the day. As a matter of fact, prayer prepares me for the day to come.

7. People are dying everyday. Whether it is through suicide or through a shooting, massive amounts of people are dying everyday. Young boys and girls die before their time, and it is a shame to these things happening. We must pray for God's protection over the world.

8. Our family members need to be covered and protected. Our kids, our parents, families, and friends must be protected by the blood of Jesus. As we go throughout the day, we must pray protection over their bodies, cars, and jobs. The world is a horrific place nowadays, and we cannot make it in life without being protected.

9. Unexpected things are happening every year. The weather patterns and climate is changing. We are seeing shifts with temperatures, earthquakes in places that never took place, and many other things. Massive shoot outs are taking place in rural and small areas. Every year, unexpected things are happening, and we must be prepared for them.

10. Deception is arising, and people are believing everything. It is easy for people to believe someone like Donald Trump because of the ignorance of the people. Nowadays, with all the media, it has become difficult to really investigate and go in-depth as to studying candidates and their profiles. False teachings are being risen up, as well, promoting agendas that have risen that are contrary to God's word. It is not okay to live these practices; we must pray now.

These are ten reasons as to why we should pray for this world. The reasons are truly more than all of the ones that are here. Not convinced? Step outside of your house and go to the corner. Look at the homeless people. Look at the car accidents. Look at the single mothers headed home pregnant carrying two babies. Look at the dad that is attacking or hitting his child. Prayer makes us better people. The call for prayer is now. It is time to start praying to change this world.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
