I don't know about y'all, but I definitely went through a phase where I watched nothing but TLC; and my favorite show on that channel was "Cake Boss." The show films Buddy Valestro's bakery in Hoboken, N.J. and showcases all of the larger than life cakes that he and his staff creates for everything from weddings to Willie Nelson's 80th birthday.
Carlo's Bakery was started by Buddy's father, and has since expanded its original location to other areas of New Jersey, New York, Florida, Nevada, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and soon, Texas.
In March 2016, a new Carlo's Bakery location spanning nearly 2,500 square feet will open in the Preston Center in Dallas, Texas.
"We've seen incredible growth in the past year and I'm so excited Dallas is going to be part of that!" Buddy Valestro said in a news release, "The city is filled with charm and warm hospitality, it really is the perfect fit for Carlo's Bakery."
The "Cake Boss" believes that his bakery will be a hit with families in the Dallas area, and it's not hard to imagine that the bakery will be. Everyone knows Texas embraces the "bigger is better" mentality, and surely there will be several larger than life cakes gracing the birthday parties of Dallasites everywhere this spring.
Carlo's Bakery will add a fun dynamic to the bakeries that are already favorites in Dallas. Residents and visitors of Dallas can already obtain cupcakes from an ATM, and now they can order huge, unique cakes from America's favorite "Cake Boss."
