I don't know what I would without them!

When I was a child I would always wonder what life would be like without siblings. I would get all the toys, treats, and, most importantly, attention I wanted. As I have grown up, I could not imagine life without my two built-in best friends!

My sister, Alex, is only older than me by a mere 15 months. No matter how many times we fight or annoy each other, she is my ultimate best friend. First of all, she has always been my role-model all my life and always will be. I cannot even explain how the amount of moments I have stopped and sat in awe of my sister. Throughout our schooling, her straight As and fantastic work ethic would push me to study harder and achieve more. Her fearlessness is something I have always admired. Being the oldest meant she had to do everything first: go to high school, drive, get a job, pick a college and pick a major. These are big changes and she was the first pioneer to try each of them. Because she had all these life experiences first, she was able to help me make life choices, such as which clubs I should join when I was at Padua. This advice got me involved with MedTrack and MockTrial. She wrote for the Odyssey first, which inspired me to want to write as well. Her determination on the volleyball, basketball, and tennis courts as well as on the field during softball inspired me. Even though sports are not what I love, I still enjoyed watching my sister strive to be her absolute best in everything she did. When I began doing theatre, she was one of my biggest supporters. She would run lines with me, listen to me rehearse and watch me practice my dances. She even made her debut on stage and took a theatre class with me so that we could do something I loved together.

My sister is my best friend. She is my go-to person. When I am stressed and overwhelmed, she is the first person I vent to. When I am lonely at school, I call her to ask if I can come over and hang out in her dorm. When I was nervous and shy during the very first week of college, she was the one who helped me start talking to people. When I fell down the steps at the beginning of the year, she came to my dorm and took me to the health center. She takes care of me, makes me laugh and is the truly the best sister I could have ever asked for.

Not only am I lucky enough to have a fantastic sister, I am also blessed with the best bud ever, Jonathan! Johnny is three years younger than me, but he understands me like no one else can. Whenever I get to hang out with him, I am always laughing uncontrollably. We have similar senses of humor so we find ourselves laughing together a lot. Johnny is the sweetest boy around. Many of my friends have 15 year old brothers who are a complete pain, but I do not have that issue. Sure, we fight occasionally, but I think anyone who lives with their siblings understand getting into minor arguments. Johnny always looks at situations from a different prospective than I do, which is why I confide in him. He has always been a good listener from when he was little and still is today. In addition to these amazing qualities, he also is the only person who catches all of my Spongebob references!

I am so grateful that I have the two best siblings and best friends. I do not know what I would do without them and I cannot wait for the many years of making memories that lie ahead!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
