How To Get Groceries On A Budget With Costco

For the past two months, Costco has been saving my life. I have always had the membership card (thank you Dad) and used it for gas, but I never thought of grocery shopping there and seeing what exactly would benefit me. Turns out, IT'S EVERYTHING I NEED. It has helped me eat less take-out food, and make more meal prepping dishes by choosing my sorts of foods to take with me to work or school without ending up with chips and burgers while saving money at the same time.

When I shop in general, I'm the type to go into every aisle and see what I might need or find (kind of not the smartest idea). Going into Costco for the first time being there for myself and not as a kid with my parents, I got to see all of their stocks and I was honestly surprised at how much stuff they had for affordable prices! They have anything that you need in your home starting from your kitchen to the bedroom, the bathroom and more.

I mainly go to Costco for their food, produce, and sweets. I start around the bread aisles and they usually have great deals on muffins that I get here and there to help me find a quick go-to for breakfast while driving to work (don't fall for the cookies next to them). If you've ever been to Costco, you know they have those freezer rooms that carry fresh produce and freeze you to death so you avoid those areas... well turns out I was able to find milk, creamer, spinach, fresh strawberries, mangoes, blackberries, and different kinds of salad greens.

Another great thing is that they carry those 'to-go' salads that are prepped and sealed for you to take to work and just mix once you finally are ready to eat it. Around there is cheese, fruits, microwaved foods, and water, toiletries, dog treats, and ice cream options. Also, I've seen them carry foods from restaurants such as Souplantation Salads, Olive Garden dressings, Red Lobster biscuits, and even the Ghirardelli Triple Chocolate Brownies!

I bunch up as many fruits as I can, spinach, any foods I know will be easy to prep or take with me to work and head out to the register. I really recommend trying Costco first before heading to any other grocery store because you can really save a lot and get more out of it since almost everything is in bulk rather than spending double for another add-on at a regular grocery store. I usually spend about fifty to a hundred the most for food that lasts me either a week or two depending on what I get.

There's easy to-go snacks, mini meals, and ingredients to make a simple dish for you to eat that's healthy, affordable, and worth the money. Try it out and see how much you save and start making time to eat healthier because it really saves you so much in the long run -- health-wise and wallet-wise!

xoxo,

Princess J

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
